Compulsive sexual behaviour
Compulsive sexual behaviour is an overwhelming need for sex which interferes with the patient’s personal and professional life. Many experts believe that other psychological disorders underlie sexual obsessions and compulsions.
Compulsive sexual behavior may be a maladaptive coping mechanism for other emotional problems, including mood and personality disorders. Often patients were abused physically and/or sexually as children.
