Internet addiction
Internet addicts spend an increasing amount of time on the Internet to achieve satisfaction. Important social, occupational or recreational activities are given up or reduced because of Internet use.
Gambling and shopping addictions and compulsive sexual behaviour are increasingly related to a high Internet use. In Austria there are about 50.000 Internet addicts.
Withdrawal symptoms are nervousness, depression and irritability.
